    About the Opportunity

    Working in our Service Center means that you will be trained from top to bottom on a wide variety of topics, giving you incredible industry experience and exposure. We are an elite 50-person bicoastal team of talented, driven, and fun people who collaborate together to succeed in our goals. As one of us, you will be the first point of contact for our financial advisors and their staff. You will assist with their day-to-day operations, from resolving problems to providing guidance on our systems and resources.
    The Service Center Academy is our bold training program designed to help us recruit the best and the brightest recent college graduates or those who are new to financial services to join our team. Selected candidates will come on board in June to begin a six- to eight-month training program. The training covers an extensive range of operational processes and procedures, financial services basics, our indispensable service mantra, and a primer on effective communications, as well as an in-depth exposure to our Anything but Common® culture and community.

    Upon completion of training:

    • Serving as the first point of contact for our advisors and their staff; this includes spending 80 percent of your day answering incoming phone calls to strategically identify and resolve critical client issues and inquiries
    • Educating callers on a broad range of topics, from account establishment and asset movement inquiries to more complex corporate actions and tax reporting questions
    • Building relationships with our financial advisors and their staff by consistently providing the highest level of customer service
    • Staying abreast of new resources, products, and procedures, as well as industry news and regulations
    • Collaborating with various internal operations teams across the firm to research and resolve complicated issues
    • Upholding Commonwealth’s legacy of providing indispensable service—a level of service so satisfying that our advisors would never want to be without us


    • Superior analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new information quickly and communicate clearly with callers
    • Fiercely intuitive thinker with the innate ability to piece multiple concepts together to resolve complex problems and see the big picture
    • Talented multitasker with the aptitude to use multiple systems, listen, and communicate at the same time
    • Consistently positive attitude with a strong desire to help others
    • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written
    • A willingness to acquire the FINRA Series 7 securities registration
    • Exposure to financial services—either professionally or through internships and coursework
    • Experience working with financial advisors or in an advisory firm is a plus
    • A desire to work in a department with a culture all its own at a company that prides itself on working hard, playing hard, and being Anything but Common
