About the Opportunity

Our Project Management Office team—part of our expansive Technology department—is looking to bring on a QA engineer who will work closely with stakeholders to write and execute manual test cases and report on results in a Microsoft environment with multiple complex projects.
 
The right person for this opportunity will be a self-starter with a can-do attitude and a creative problem solver with strong analytical skills. Responsibilities

  • Leading and coordinating work across the QA Project team
  • Creating test plans, strategies, and cases as appropriate, possibly directing others
  • Reporting, analyzing, and tracking defects
  • Assisting with software releases
  • Working closely with other QA members, Development, and stakeholders
  • Participating in team standups, planning, and other meetings
  • Designing test scope, approaches, and strategies
  • Designing and/or locating test data
  • Ensuring that appropriate tests are executed during development and upon deployment
  • Collaborating with the team to identify areas of high risk and root causes of problems
  • Working closely with team members and developers to detect, prioritize, and fix defects
  • Providing appropriate status and risk assessment for management
  • Working to improve the QA team by identifying and implementing process improvements, as well as by mentoring junior members of the QA team

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of testing experience in information services or technology
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum development processes and methodologies
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong manual testing with SQL; proficiency with SQL queries
  • Experience working in a Microsoft environment—particularly with source control and bug-tracking in TFS
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Test automation and coding, especially C#, NUnit, and Selenium a plus
  • Experience working in a financial services environment a plus
