Chief Architect, Commonwealth Equity Services, LLC, Waltham, MA
Responsible for providing architecture and strategic direction to Commonwealth Financial Network’s IT organization. This will include providing solution architecture consulting services, overseeing the architectural governance process, coordinating emerging technology and innovation research, maintaining the multi-year technology strategy, and managing the security strategy and related security oversight. Will lead a group of cross-functional Computer Architects working with the Company’s strategy, operations, and technology teams to create technology solutions supporting the Company’s internal IT systems and advisor business. Will partner with business departments to understand business needs and priorities, identify opportunities to create new solutions, and use emerging technologies to design and implement cost effective, sustainable, strategic systems. The duties and responsibilities of this position will include:
Tailoring and implementing product development methodologies, best practices, and standards to achieve the highest product quality while continuously improving performance, productivity and execution of the software organization.
Managing and developing CFN’s architecture functions and overseeing the development, design, and quality assurance of CFN’s technology platforms.
Working with business partners and the IT organizations to ensure the technology strategy is regularly refreshed and updated.
Enhancing the security architecture in response to new security requirements and threats and overseeing security governance processes.
Working with business and IT senior leadership to make IT investment decisions that reflect an appropriate balance of long-term strategic investments and short-term investments that provide immediate business benefits.
Developing future application architecture that supports CFN’s business priorities and objectives while being flexible so it can accommodate rapidly changing business requirements, evolving customer expectations, and technology evolution.
Overseeing the work of a team of Solution Architects that provide direction and consulting to project teams.
Approving all 3rd party engagements to ensure technology fit.
Working collaboratively with vendors to provide enhancement solutions and establish a secure, effective, and efficient environment and architecture supporting multiple business subject areas.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science or a closely related field.
7 years of experience in a software architect role working on SharePoint development projects. Must also have experience with
Office 365, Azure AD, Identity Integration, Azure cloud solutions and software development;
SQL Server, SSAS and SSIS.
