    About the Opportunity

    Our HelpDesk team is looking for a smart, motivated, and creative junior engineer to help us troubleshoot and resolve complex network and systems issues in order to provide indispensable service to customers. This position provides the opportunity to work with firewalls, LAN and WAN technologies, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), Exchange servers, Active Directory, and various other important network and business systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Contributing to the overall success of our growing customer base by supporting our network and system infrastructure
    • Supporting Check Point network devices across our multisite network
    • Troubleshooting firewall, VPN, and ISP connectivity issues for small offices
    • Monitoring and support of a VPN for nearly 1,800 small offices
    • Collaborating with network engineering team members and other technology groups to implement and support a variety of technical projects
    • Supporting and resolving issues with VDI, Avaya phone systems, Exchange, Outlook, and other systems
    • Working as an escalation point for the tier 2 and 3 helpdesk specialists
    • Educating tier 2 and 3 helpdesk specialists with learned technical knowledge
    • Performing tasks outside of business hours, following the company’s change management and operational procedures
    • Participating in our on-call rotation and providing 24/7 response to outages during on-call periods
    • Communicating, tracking, and resolving simple and complex network issues in a timely fashion
    • Creating detailed technical documentation and maintaining knowledgebase articles, as needed

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of network or systems engineering experience
    • Working knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and other networking systems
    • Experience working with Check Point firewalls is a plus
    • Intimate proficiency with Microsoft Exchange 2007 and beyond
    • Proven ability to pay close attention to detail and follow change management procedures
    • Excellent customer service skills, including phone skills
    • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
    • Experience prioritizing and multitasking
    • Ability to work closely with others on technical and procedural topics
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Office 365 administration is a plus
    • CCNA or equivalent certification is a plus
    • MCSE or equivalent certification is a plus
