    About the Opportunity

    Are you a strategic thinker with a genuine desire to coach, consult, and promote? A natural leader with exceptional relationship-building skills? We are looking for an experienced and highly organized retirement professional with these strengths to join us as vice president of retirement consulting services.
    On a day-to-day basis, our Retirement Consulting Services team provides advanced technical, marketing, and product-based support, as well as legislative updates, to help our advisors service and grow their retirement business. The vice president will oversee all retirement marketing and product development initiatives to benefit the firm, as well as its 1,800 advisors and their individual clients.

    • Designing and implementing the annual retirement business plan for the firm
    • Managing the bicoastal Retirement Consulting Services team, as well as working with various other departments to facilitate plan objectives
    • Overseeing business development activities, including coaching affiliated advisors in identifying opportunities, completing sales processes, and managing ongoing client retention for individual and employer-sponsored retirement plans
    • Serving as a technical expert and maintaining current legislative knowledge of all retirement-related issues regarding qualified plans
    • Overseeing the process for evaluating new sponsors, TPAs, custodians, and ancillary vendors prior to adding them to our stable of value-added partners
    • Supervising various marketing outlets to promote the firm’s prowess in the retirement space, including our internal website design, conferences, newsletters, and contact with outside media
    • Actively participating in Commonwealth’s recruiting process to add new retirement-oriented advisors to our network


    • An excellent understanding of all facets of the retirement marketplace
    • Exceptional marketing, client relationship, and communication skills
    • A strategic thinker with a genuine desire to help our financial advisors
    • Highly organized
    • Able to lead a team, as well as serve as a mentor
    • Tech savvy—comfortable with technology and quick to learn new applications
    • 15+ years of industry experience
    • 5+ years of managerial experience
    • A solid understanding of industry rules and regulations
    • FINRA Series 7, 24, and 65 securities registrations preferred
    • MBA preferred
