  • Overview

    Commonwealth is looking for a collaborative, well-spoken, and strategic leader to oversee the firm’s Vendor Management team within our Enterprise Risk Management department. Our group is highly visible in the business, as we monitor, analyze, and rectify risks associated with vendor management. Your strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills will be an asset to our mission, as you’ll be partnering with groups across the organization at all levels to ensure that vendor selection and management are consistently followed. You will also manage the firm’s contract life cycles. This position reports to the chief risk officer.


    Key responsibilities

    • Drafting, negotiating, and managing all forms of vendor agreements in partnership with the Legal department
    • Reviewing the firm’s contractual obligations and interpreting the terms and conditions of vendor agreements to ensure compliance with the firm’s policies
    • Collaborating with members of Enterprise Risk, Finance, and other business units, maximizing performance on renewals
    • Developing and implementing standard templates, forms, and processes for the vendor agreement review
    • Advising and communicating with different teams across the firm on mitigating legal risks and business risks in vendor agreements
    • Understanding and presenting the financial implications of contracts and working closely with Accounts Payable and managers to ensure accurate billing
    • Interacting with relationship owners to accomplish contract requirements, to include vendor sourcing activities, the invitation for RFI, RFP, pre-award meetings, letters of intent, post-award meetings, modifications, and closing out contracts
    • Resolving issues and inquiries related to active contracts and schedules in an accurate and timely manner
    • Preparing and submitting reports, charts, and narratives
    • Managing a team with varying levels of skills and experiences 

    Core strengths

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
    • 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Ability to clearly present ideas
    • Ability to lead a team
    • Ability to work productively in a team environment
    • Ability to develop and implement strategic objectives
