    Commonwealth is looking to bring on a go-getter of a senior accountant to take charge of improving the accounting platform and processes of the organization, managing financial and administrative services to a start-up investment company, overseeing real estate portfolio, improving risk management, maintaining records and financial schedules, as well as processing expenses in support of the Office of the Chairman. This position reports to the manager of the chairman’s office.


    Key responsibilities 

    • Providing comprehensive support to the Office of the Chairman
    • Maintaining accounting records in and out of QuickBooks
    • Improving functionality of QuickBooks by upgrading automation of data population, improving controls and reporting capabilities, and creating dashboards
    • Vetting, preparing for, and overseeing implementation of a new accounting platform
    • Maintaining complex loan and financial schedules on behalf of the chairman
    • Improving risk management protocol of the organization, including controls environment and policies and processes
    • Providing accounting support to start-up private equity investment company
    • Processing expenses, paying bills, and overseeing the organization of tax and financial-related documentation
    • Managing cash and recording investment allocation and performance
    • Supporting management of trusts and fiduciary accounting
    • Coordinating, researching, and overseeing special projects, as needed
    • Providing occasional administrative support or backup, as needed

    Core strengths 

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Knowledge and proficiency with Intuit QuickBooks
    • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively execute in a fast-paced environment
    • Proven and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with complete discretion
    • Excellent communication skills; comfortable interacting and communicating with all levels of the organization
    • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

    Additional skills and knowledge 

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher
    • A minimum of 3 years of work experience as an accounting professional or in a single-family office environment
