We are the first point of contact for our financial advisors and their staff. As one of us, you will assist advisors and staff with their day-to-day operations, from resolving problems to providing guidance on our systems and resources. Operations support specialists are responsible for an extensive range of operational processes and procedures and provide indispensable service through effective communications and by embracing our Anything but Common® culture and community. Your mission will be to build strong, trusting relationships with our financial advisors and their staff by using your industry knowledge and out-of-the-box thinking. To help achieve this mission, our team has an extensive in-house training program designed to prepare you for a successful career in our Service Center.

Key responsibilities

  • Serving as the first point of contact for our advisors and their staff; this includes spending 80 percent of your day answering incoming phone calls to strategically identify and resolve critical client issues and inquiries
  • Educating callers on a broad range of topics, from account establishment and asset movement inquiries to more complex corporate actions and tax-reporting questions
  • Building relationships with our financial advisors and their staff by consistently providing the highest level of customer service
  • Staying abreast of new resources, products, and procedures, as well as industry news and regulations
  • Collaborating with various internal Operations teams across the firm to research and resolve complicated issues
  • Upholding Commonwealth’s legacy of providing indispensable service—a level of service so satisfying that our advisors would never want to be without us

Additional skills and knowledge

  • FINRA Series 7 securities registration or a willingness to acquire it
  • Experience working with in a financial advisory firm or in financial service industry preferred
