Are you an effective communicator with an agile mindset? An adept problem solver and skilled facilitator, too? The Infrastructure Project Management team at Commonwealth is seeking a project manager who can leverage his or her experience and technical knowledge to help drive the goals of projects and programs.


The Infrastruture Project Management department drives the implementation of infrastructure and security initiatives in accordance with the strategic vision of the firm, as well as provides guidance and education to Information Technology on effective project management practices. In this role, you will be working with a project sponsor or product owner (or both)—taking responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects and ensuring consistency with the company’s strategy, commitments, and goals.


Key responsibilities

  • Facilitating the definition of the project scope, milestones, goals, and deliverables
  • Partnering with other business stakeholders, when needed, to develop business cases, process flows, and requirements
  • Building consensus with senior cross-department stakeholders, presenting status to executives
  • Defining project tasks and resource requirements from various in-house teams
  • Developing project plans at the task, milestone, and resource level
  • Collaborating with project sponsors or product owners to break the project into proper phases and clearly identify deliverables for each phase
  • Tracking project against plan—anticipating events that may require a contingency plan, recommending corrective action, and ensuring that stakeholders are kept informed
  • Providing management, direction, and support to the project team
  • Managing multiple large projects or a program
  • Working with Scrum or project teams as needed to get the project(s) completed

Core strengths

  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies like Azure/O365/Azure AD
  • Experience with Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign On (SSO) technologies
  • Experience with implementing security controls at an enterprise level
  • Experience leading multiple infrastructure projects as part of an enterprise cloud migration
  • Familiarity with information security technologies and policies/procedures
  • Experience working with managed service providers driving accountability through effective collaboration and metrics
  • Strong, clear communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Ability to run and facilitate meetings with executives
  • Ability to effectively manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong risk management skills

Additional skills and knowledge

  • 10 years of project management experience
  • Technical and security-related certifications a plus
  • Financial services industry experience a plus
