    Everything speaks! We are looking to add a fee-only transition operations specialist to our team—someone who possesses above-average attention to service and top-notch problem-solving skills. The RIA Services Transition team supports new advisors and their staff during a pivotal time as they move their financial practice to Commonwealth or convert their current Commonwealth practices to a fee-only model.

     

    Simply put, we are in the business of making great first impressions that lead to lasting relationships.

    Members of this essential team serve as liaisons with every department to answer questions, resolve problems, and do whatever it takes to facilitate the transition process for our fee-only advisors. As a transition operations specialist, you will serve as a contact and resource for prospective and new advisors transitioning to Commonwealth, as well as for existing advisors looking to convert to fee-only.

     

    Key responsibilities 

    • Serving as the primary contact for new and existing advisors transitioning to fee-only, regarding all operations-related issues
    • Providing comprehensive phone and face-to-face education to offices on Commonwealth’s systems
    • Working closely with teammates and other departments to facilitate a smooth and successful transition
    • Providing best practices for operations processing and procedures
    • Co-conducting presentations on the transition process to prospective advisors during home office visits
    • Traveling to new offices to assist in creating office efficiencies and providing hands-on training during an advisor’s first three to five months of joining
    • Managing and leading departmental projects, as needed

    Core strengths 

    • Familiarity with the RIA model and fee-based asset management

    • Strong technical skills in Excel, Word, and database tools
    • Strong team player
    • First-rate problem-solving ability
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at a time and navigate competing priorities
    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Flexible and patient demeanor

    Additional skills and knowledge 

    • 1–3 years of experience in the RIA or securities industry
    • FINRA Series 65 or 66 securities registration, a plus
    • Some travel required (up to 20 percent of time)
