Overview

Are you interested in working with some of the best talent in the industry to craft a new API platform? As an API automation engineer, you will be a critical part of an innovative, fast-growing team that is embarking on a multiyear journey to build an enterprise API platform. The platform will make data and services accessible as APIs, providing higher value to both internal and external customers/stakeholders.

 

In this role, you would work closely with the Development, Product, and DevOps teams, as well as other stakeholders, to design, build, and execute API test suites and test cases. We are looking for an individual with solid API automation and testing skills who has a strong quality assurance background and can build automation to support that.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing API test suites and test cases
  • Building an API automation framework using Postman
  • Partnering closely with the product owner, development team, and business analysts to understand the requirements and appropriate use cases
  • Running daily regression suites and analyzing results
  • Reporting identified defects to project teams
  • Collecting and effectively communicating sprint testing metrics

 Core Strengths

  • Ability to build an API automation framework from scratch
  • Experience in functional, regression, and integration testing for UI and API-based applications
  • Experience working in an Agile team setting
  • Experience in integrating test automation to CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Well-organized and self-motivated

Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • At least 3 years of experience in Postman/SoapUI-Rest API automation
  • Experience in one of the scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Groovy)
  • Proficient with SQL and writing SQL queries
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with Azure cloud
  • Experience in Selenium WebDriver/UI automation a plus
  • Familiarity with SaaS and experience in financial services a plus
