Personal development is one of Commonwealth’s core values—and we wholeheartedly believe in providing that support to everyone who walks through our doors. Since 1999, we have been welcoming summer interns into our Anything but Common® community, providing career-building skills and experiences designed to set you up for success.
Our internships are placed throughout various Commonwealth departments, including:
Please note: Our internships are on-site positions located in our Waltham, Massachusetts office. When applying, please confirm your availability to work in our Waltham location.
No Coffee Fetchers Here!
We will bring you on as an intern only if a manager identifies a specific need and commits to overseeing your professional development. You will do real work that adds value to the organization, helps you learn and grow, and lays the groundwork for a possible career with Commonwealth once you graduate. We are committed to establishing long-lasting relationships with you, intentionally identifying permanent roles where we can.
The internship program includes a three-day orientation process, professional development classes, various networking opportunities and invitations to company events, interactions with senior leadership, a group giving-back initiative, and a Shark Tank–style project experience. (We like to have fun while we work!)
Are You In?
Over the years, our internship program has evolved and become significantly more competitive. We receive hundreds of applications for 15 to 25 summer internships every year. To help us understand your interest in a Commonwealth summer internship, please include a cover letter (required) with your résumé.
We encourage you to note specific department(s) of interest in your cover letter, but we can’t guarantee an interview or placement in specifically noted departments. If you’re hired, we promise you will learn a lot, no matter where you land in the organization. A great workplace—and a rewarding internship or job—is about so much more than the day-to-day tasks.
Commonwealth is an equal opportunity employer, making intentional efforts to work with candidates from diverse backgrounds. If you are open to broadening your horizons, a Commonwealth internship might be the right fit for you.
Due to the high volume of résumés we receive, it is not possible for us to personally respond to every applicant. If we feel you are a good match for one of our internship positions, we will be in touch.
Have we piqued your curiosity? Can you see yourself thriving in this opportunity? Let’s introduce ourselves.
