We’re looking for a network operations center engineer to join our ranks. This role will also assist our site reliability engineers in configuring monitoring tools to ensure complete observability into the company’s infrastructure and applications while responding to incoming alerts to resolve or triage incidents.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Managing our monitoring and alerting tools to ensure full visibility into all IT systems
  • Monitoring network and server performance and proactively address potential issues
  • Working closely with application and Infrastructure teams to swiftly resolve ongoing incident
  • Conducting routine checks and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal network functionality
  • Utilizing performance monitoring tools to identify network and system bottlenecks
  • Providing clear and timely communication to stakeholders during incidents
  • Capturing information for ongoing incidents and escalate to Technology teams for resolution
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of network maintenance tasks and incident resolutions
  • Resolving problems, root cause analysis, and capture documentation to reduce future issues
  • Being part of a 24x7 support team with on-call rotation

Core Strengths and Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience with a variety of monitoring and alerting vendors (Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk). SEIM experience a plus
  • Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Must have hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining monitoring and alerting software such as Dynatrace and Datadog, and escalation tools such as OpsGenie or Pager Duty
  • Solid knowledge of and previous experience using scripting technologies (e.g. PowerShell or Python)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues while making sensible decisions in times of stress
