We’re looking for a senior UI designer to join our ranks. The senior UI designer is crucial in envisioning and implementing seamless and compelling user experiences via strategic, breakthrough, and modern user interface design for Commonwealth’s digital products and online presence. Reporting to the Creative Director, Brand, this role demands a blend of creativity and technical expertise, aimed at delivering adaptive and innovative solutions to design challenges. Must be passionate about staying ahead of the curve with the latest design practices and trends, ensuring that our digital experiences are user-centric, accessible, interactive, and engaging. Your expertise in both graphic design and UI/UX will be crucial in shaping our products and enhancing client satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with strategists, the creative team, product lab and dev team on digital and web design projects that align to the project brief and brand/messaging strategy, and implementing required features successfully
  • Understanding key business metrics and how to translate goals into effective user experiences
  • Proposing, creating, and developing responsive and accessible UI solutions for our website
  • Translating wireframes/ideas into hi-fidelity, responsive prototypes and preparing documentation of final design through cycles of iterative product development
  • Leveraging and evolving a comprehensive design system in Figma, ensuring consistency and efficiency across our digital platforms
  • Making consistently superior typography, color, and imagery decisions at a system level
  • Keeping visual consistency across different channels such as social media, campaigns, presentations, and awareness content. Maintaining brand standards and help evolve visual systems
  • Participating in defining and refining our design and development processes, promoting a culture of efficiency and collaboration
  • Create design assets for social media, campaigns, page layout including reports, white papers, case studies, and presentations to supplement static content workstreams
  • Communicating and advocating for best-in-class results, methods, and approaches

Core Strengths and Skills

  • 8+ years of experience working on brand design, with a focus on digital and UI
  • Preferred: BA in digital design, UX/UI, or a related field, and a portfolio showcasing a wide range of top tier UI design skills
  • Expertise in industry-standard design processes, user interaction design principles, and user interface design guidelines
  • Enthusiastic about proactive problem-solving and decision-making from both creative and analytical perspectives
  • Experience in working with content management systems (CMS)
  • Understanding of SEO principles and how they relate to design
  • Exceptional ability to communicate visually, verbally, and in writing, with expertise in presenting, supporting choices and negotiating design concepts
  • Strong independent work ethic, complemented by the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team with shifting priorities and a variable workload
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Self-starter who is strategic, thoughtful, and passionate about their work
  • Positive attitude that fosters an exciting creative environment
  • Familiarity with Agile development philosophy and methodologies
  • Familiarity with the possibilities of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe CC, with a solid understanding of web and mobile ecosystems.
  • Experience with no-code website/app building tools like Foleon, Ceros, etc.
  • Experience in financial services a plus
