We’re looking for a senior platform owner to join our ranks. As a member of the advisor digital solutions group, the senior platform owner will help to drive the success of our core product offering focused on our trading platforms. You will work closely with our trading and asset management teams, our Orion Advisor Technology partner, and our affiliates to drive the success and enablement of the trading platform. You will passionately advocate for our affiliate community and look for opportunities to influence and promote our product needs with our technology partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains deep expertise in Orion Advisor Technology’s full trading platform capabilities, including Model Management and trading at both the practice and household levels. Develops a comprehensive understanding of individual product features and their integration points, and effectively communicates these insights to a broad audience, including affiliates and home office staff
- Partners closely with Orion Advisor Technology’s trading product team and Commonwealth’s internal Platform Managers to advocate for the needs of our advisor community; Actively engages with Orion’s customer success team and maintains a strong presence in the trading roadmap process to ensure the successful rollout of features, with a focus on platform quality, stability, and user experience
- Elevate practice efficiency by educating advisors on leveraging the trading platform. Be able to communicate and highlight success stories and best practices within our community
- Build and review metrics and KPIs to focus on key areas and user groups that represent opportunities for improvement and increased product adoption and effectiveness
- Partners closely with our asset management team to ensure successful implementation and execution of Commonwealth’s internal portfolio and model management platform. Provide guidance and training on product capabilities and advocate on their behalf with Orion Advisor Technology
- Builds and manages a product feedback loop for the continued advancement of the internal and external-facing trading platform
- Be an active contributor and respond to affiliate-facing feedback. Field ad hoc requests and actively engage with our affiliates to ensure input is gathered for the continued refinement of the trading platform
- Provides consultation and education to the internal support group(s) and stakeholders by keeping them apprised on new product information and capabilities; Aids with the creation of training materials and IT communications
- Facilitate and lead product review sessions with our affiliate community
- Support Commonwealth’s vision by delivering product presentations at Commonwealth conferences and events
- Issue escalation and working with IT Service Delivery Lead to ensure timely communication and resolution execution with our vendors
- Provide vision, industry analysis and active engagement in the development of our trading product roadmap

- Excellent verbal, written and listening skills. Strong communication abilities to engage with affiliates, technology partners and home office staff via phone and in-person with high frequency.
- You are naturally empathetic and care deeply, genuinely and passionately about solving problems for affiliates. Friendly approach to teaching and helping others.
- Ability to interact with others in a positive and respectful manner, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- You’re not afraid to dive into unfamiliar content, quickly get up to speed, and provide support for our affiliate community to better understand and leverage our trading platform.
- A combination of technology, market and business savvy of the financial RIA/Broker Dealer landscape and Fintech industry. Be able to use knowledge and experience to work with affiliates to help deliver best practices.
- Relationship/vendor management focus and champions for our affiliates' needs
Additional Skills and Knowledge
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related role focused on building, managing or supporting enterprise-level and/or advisor-facing trading platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, technology, or related field
- Series 7 or similar a plus
- Working knowledge of the Orion Trading platform a plus
